Torsional response of high-rise building with stagger transfer structure during horizontal earthquake

A 40-story high-rise building with stagger transfer structure has been designed according to Chinese Code,two other high-rise buildings with one transfer story have also been designed in need of comparison.The Etabs and Satwe programs are used.The ratio between the maximum displacement and the mean one in each story,and the ratio between the maximum story drift and the mean one in each story of the abovementioned three models are analyzed and compared.The relative torsional angle,the interstory torsional angle and the harmful interstory torsional angle are compared.The displacement track of the point at the corner of the top story is also analyzed.The research results show that the torsional response of the high-rise building with stagger transfer structure is greater than that of the high-rise building with one transfer story;the ratio of displacement can't reflect the torsional response characteristic of this kind of structure,the interstory torsional angle is better than the ratio of displacement in reflecting that of this kind of structure.
