Experimental study on seismic performance of medium-height RC shear wall with bi-directional single row of steel bars

The RC shear wall with bi-directional single row of steel bars is applicable for multistory residential building.In order to measure the seismic performance of shear walls,a low-frequency quasi-static cyclic loading experimental study on four medium-height shear wall specimens was carried out.Two specimens were medium-height RC shear walls with bi-directional single row of steel bars,one specimen was medium-height RC shear walls with bi-directional single row of steel bars and concealed bracing,and another one was medium-height RC shear wall with bi-directional double row of steel bars.Based upon the experimental study,load-carrying capacity,stiffness and its degradation,ductility,hysteretic behavior,energy dissipation and failure phenomena of the shear walls were contrastively analyzed,and the effects of concealed bracing on the seismic performance of this shear wall were discussed.It is shown that the medium-height RC shear wall with bi-directional single row of steel bars will be able to meet the requirements of seismic design for multistory residential building through rational design.
