Improved method for incremental dynamic analysis and its application

This paper describes the improvement of two key links of existing methods for Incremental Dynamic Analysis(IDA).Firstly,an efficient method named Fast Incremental Dynamic Analysis(FIDA) is developed and evaluated.Secondly,based on the IDA results,a numerical calculation method of seismic fragility curves is developed by statistical estimation method.This calculation method can reduce the uncertainty of seismic fragility curves caused by the traditional calculation method of seismic fragility curves.Finally,a 14-story RC tube in tube structure is specified as the example model to verify the improved method.The IDA calculation of the example structure using FIDA,MIDA and IDA method,and the seismic fragility curves of the example structure using the proposed method are finished.Comparison among the results reveal that the FIDA is an efficient seismic performance evaluation method,and the proposed method for computing the seismic fragility curves is more reliable than the traditional method.
