Design,testing and seismic mitigation performance research of a new type of buckling-restrained braces

A new type of full steel assembled buckling-restrained brace(BRB) is proposed.Main theoretical formulas are given,while the working process and mechanism of BRB is simulated by employing the finite element analysis(FEA),further more,the full-scale test is conducted to verify the results of simplified calculation method and FEA.Finally,the nonlinear dynamic time history analysis of buckling-restrained braced frames(BRBF) structure is simulated to assess the seismic mitigation performance of BRB.It showsd that the effectiveness of theoretical simplified calculation and FEA in initial design of BRB product and BRB is able to significantly mitigate the dynamic responses and improve the safety of structure subjected to earthquake.
