Twin Pole Pairs Slot-Number Phase Diagram and Its Application in the Design of Pole Changing Windings

In this paper, the authors advance one type of "twtn pole pairs slot- number phasediagram ".This new type of slot-numher phase diagram has many distinctive advanta ges besides the features of the traditional single pole pair slot- number phase diagram.While the new type of slot-number phase diagram is used to the design of pole changing windings, the distribution of the same one winding scheme under both differentpole pair numbers can be analyzed directly in the meantime. The consideration can begiven to the property of the winding scheme under the both pole pair numbers. Thewinding scheme with fine properly under the both pole pole numbers can be obtaineddirectly and simply without needing heuristics. This new type of slot-number phasediagram is a simple. convenient. direct a nd prac tica I design tool for pole c hanging windings. In this paper, the principle, the technique of drawing and the features of thenew type of slot - number phase diagram are described in detail. The concrete use andthe actual effect of the new type of slot - number phase diagram in the design of polechanging windings are exPOunded with a practical design example.
