Analysis of the Torque Characteristics of Synchronous Reluctance Permanent Magnetic Motors

Based on the briefly introduction of the structure and principle of the Synchronous Reluctance Permanent Magnetic (SR-PM) Motors, its nonlinear torque characteristics have been investigated using finite-element techniques. Except for the basic torque curves, the influence of permanent magnetic material and gap length on torque has been discussed, as well as the errors of linear model. Then the control strategy is presented based on torque characteristics. The analysis indicates that SR-PM motors have their unique torque characteristics and need special consideration in control.
