ZHANG Qirui;ZHANG Qirong;Jingyuan City Museum;People's Government of Shuanglong Township,Jingyuan County;
Since the 1970 s, five epitaphs from the Sui and Tang dynasties have been unearthed from the ancient Beichengtan tombs at Beicheng Village, Shuanglong Township, Jingyuan County, Gansu Province. They all contain records about Wulan City or Wulan County, thus providing valuable material for studying the organizational systems of medieval Wulan city. By summarizing the five epitaphs and transcribing the texts as accurately as possible, this paper discusses the evolution of the organizational systems and geographic positions of Wulan city and Wulan County, and discusses relevant issues regarding the transmigration of the Fan family from Dunhuang to Wulan, hoping to promote research on the north route of the Silk Road and the regional history of Jingyuan.
