Investigation on Rotary Ultrasonic Assisted Machining Equipment and Its Process

Based on traditional ultrasonic vibration theory,a new rotary ultrasonic assisted machining equipment has been designed. It consists of ultrasonic vibration and loading-force matching system,and has the ability to machine hard-brittle material. Drilling microholes on microwave ferrite by ultrasonic assisted machining and loading-force matching system were firstly attempted,and it has been proved that ultrasonic vibration can reduce the cutting force during machining. Moreover,the influence of rotary ultrasonic assisted machining equipment on the processing efficiency has been explored,under the premise of ensuring the safety of cutting tools and materials.
