Response characteristics of array lateral logging of cracks in highly deviated wells and horizontal wells

The three-dimensional finite element numerical simulation method was applyed to study the array lateral logging response characteristics of fractures in high deviated wells and horizontal wells. The results show that the crack porosity has the most influence on the logging response of the fracture, and the change of the fracture porosity will cause huge change of the apparent resistivity value. The effect of crack inclination on the response of the instrument depends on the size of the fracture porosity. When the fracture porosity is less than 0.000 1, the influence of the crack inclination on the logging response can be ignored. The logging responses of the fractures in different well angles are different. There is a "spike" phenomenon in the response of the instrument under the condition of the high deviated well, and the position of the spike is related to the inclination of the well and the crack
