Application status and development trend of water-based fracturing fluid reuse technology

With the continuous improvement of fracturing technology and the implementation of relevant laws and regulations such as environmental protection, low-cost, repeatable and green-type fracturing fluid technology is becoming the hotspot in the future research and application of fracturing technology. The status quo of the researches and applications of the domestic water-based fracturing fluid reuse was analyzed. According to the types of the fracturing fluid thickener, the existing technologies were analyzed and classified, and the main problems, development difficulties and development trends of the current technology were pointed out.Based on the analysis of the current state of the art, it is found that the current reused water-based fracturing fluid technology is in the initial stage of "withdrawing water" and then preparing fracturing fluid from the return fluid. The indoor research lags behind the field application and restricts new technology transformation process; new technology development should be taken into account the return fluid treatment to avoid disjunction with each other, affecting the practical application of new technologies; new technologies have no uniform terminology and evaluation criteria, causing the technical terminology confusion. The need to develop uniform industry standards for technical specifications and promotion is very urgent.
