The Fault Tolerant Torque of the Electro-Mechanical Actuator (EMA) System with the Hybrid Redundant Structure
In the paper a hybrid quad-redundant Electro-Mechanical Actuator (EMA) system is researched. On the base of the motor control system of the duplex winding motor, we analyzed the power wastage of the motor. Some fault tolerant operation modes of the system are advanced, and its performance is analyzed. The power wastage of the power circuit of the system under fault tolerant operation mode is also analyzed. The analysis result shows that the EMA system exists the fault tolerant capability of "Fail-Op, Fail-Op" after adopting the hybrid redundant configuration, and the mission reliability of the system is increased; the system can be used as one of the redundant design of EMA system for future airplane.
