Dimmable Electronic Ballast with PLC Function

First of all,the development of lightning control and Power Line Communication(PLC) are described.A Novel dimmable electronic ballast with PLC function is presented in this paper,which contains two parts,ballast part and PLC part.Ballast part contains EMI circuit,uncontrolled Rectifier,APFC,inverter and so on;PLC part contains MCU,PLC transceiver chip,coupling circuit and so on.The PLC is accomplished with special PLC transceiver PL2102.This system can communicate with other ballast system and monitoring computer.Besides,a network is established in lab to test ballast using oscilloscope and other devices.Also,a 40kW inverter is connected in power line to test its ability of anti-interferece.This system works correctly after experiment.The advantages of network are convenient data transfer,anti-interferece,no control lines,easy to realize distributed control and so on.The forecast of dimmable electronic ballast is also presented.
