On the formation,development and function of new generations of Chinese intellectuals in modern times

New generations of Chinese intellectuals emerged from old generations as a result of great changes in intellectual circles. From the formation of the first generation in 1860s to the fourth generation in 1920s, intellectuals strove persistently, aiming at putting an end to ignorance and backwardness of old China. Nowadays, it is of current and historical significance to do some research on the formation, development and function of new generations of modern intellectuals.
