A symmetric solution method for eigenproblem of gyroscopic system

This paper presents an efficient solution method, symmetric method, for solving the quadratic eigenproblem arising in the analysis of gyroscopic systems. The quadratic eigenproblem is reduced to a standard eigenproblem defined by a symmetric real matrix. Numerical example shows that the method is effective.
