A spatial model for the link-length types of the 5-bar linkages is established in this paper.All length types are embeded in a closed three-dimensional configuration,Any cross section of this model represents a closed planar area,from which all their types are classified completely and its behavioral graphes can be drawn. Conseqnently,its dimensional aynthesis can be implemented.It affords a com- prehensive vehicle for investigating other complicated linkages.
