PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF A HYBRID SYSTEM FOR TRANSIENT SECURITY ANALYSES OF POWER SYSTEM

This paper presents a hybrid architecture for the transient security analyses of power systems by integrating mutually complementary algorithms,i.e.the extremely fast extended equal area 'criterion based on simple models and accurate numerical integration methods based on detailed models,with knowledge-based reasoning.Hierarchical knowledge bases with corresponding inference engines are proposed.The subsystems on the low level aim at different domain objectives and the high level with metaknowledge acts as a coordination role.An error range and a confidence factor are used to reflect the inaccuracy and uncertainty of both descriptive and processing knowledges.This hybrid architecture provides us with a more realistic support system.which is more similar to the problem solving fashion of human experts,for both on-line and off-line transient security analyses.
