Simulation of a Microturbine System Based on Double PWM Converters

Based on an analysis of the characteristics of microturbine and permanent magnet synchronic generation, a simulation model of the single-shaft microturbine generation system with double PWM converters is made. In order to maintain the DC voltage and increase the response speed of microturbine, a constant voltage control method with load power tracking is used. The model can fully utilize the information about load power changes to control electromagnetic torque and DC voltage. The simulation results show that the model of microturbine with PWM structure can maintain loads voltage and satisfy power demand in the course of load changes, reduce the variation of DC voltage and value of DC capacitor between rectifier and inverter, and greatly improve the ability of bearing the load power impact.
