Influence of Distributed Generation on Phase-to-phase Short Circuit Protection in Distribution Network

Distributed generation connected to distribution system changes the direction of short-fault-current. As a result, the operating conditions of distribution protection system become different. How to keep existing protection system well and connect as large distributed generation as we can to distribution system is the chief problem. This paper analyzes the effect of distributed generation connected to distribution system on protection and gives the criterion of how to avoid the effect.
