Simulation Experiment Analysis on Market Rules for Monthly Centralized Bidding

An agent-based computational economics(ACE)experiment featuring simulation is an important method for the evaluation of the market rules.JADE framework is used for simulation system implementation.In order to study the rules of centralized bidding for monthly electricity market in China,three simulation schemes are designed.The impact of different rules on market performance is studied.This paper focuses on the two market clearing price rules,i.e.the universe electricity market clearing price rule in which the clearing price is defined at the intersection of the supply demand curves and the clearing price rule under implementation in monthly centralized bidding market of Guangdong Province,China.And some analyses and discussions have been carried out.The simulation results show that the clearing price rule defined in monthly centralized bidding market will lead to an increase in market game intensity but a decrease in converge speed.The difference between the market performances of two clearing rules becomes slight as the supply demand ratio increases.At the same time,the deviation penalty rule will influence the bidding strategy of the buyer,and then the market clearing price goes higher.Finally,suggestions are put forward according to the actual construction of electricity market in China.
