On the Cultural Exchange at Late Ming with Siam from the Establishment of Siamese Translation Office

Zhang Wende
Xian-Luo-Guan(Siamese translation office),Which was established during the seven years of Wanli (1579)in Ming Dynasty, had become a special institute of cultivating Siam language translation talents in Si-Yi-Guan(the Imperial Training Agency of the Barbarian Languages). Siam sent Wo-Men-La etc to China for engaging in teaching work. These teachers have cultivated a group of outstanding Chinese students;this ensured the late Ming dynasty and Siam relatively friendly relations, and wrote an important page of the cultural exchanges in the Ming with Siam.
