DYNAMIC STUDIES OF REACTIVE AND HARMONIC CURRENT COMPENSATORS IN POWER SYSTEMS

A new method for dynamic digital simulation of reactive and harmonic current compcnsators(RHCC)in power systems is presented,and the dynamic module of RHCC is incorporated with the widely used Electromagnatic Transient Prognm(EMTP).Then a general digital simulation program. named EMTP/CS,has been developed. By using the program, the operating characteristics of a three phase voltage-typed RHCC is studied, and the effects of some parameters such as output inductor and DC capacitor in the main circuit on the performances of RHCC are analysed.
