Edgar Rice Burroughs is one of indispensable icons of American popular culture.Burroughs lives in a time when imperialism is in its heyday and imperialists spread all over the world.As an artist,he could not live in a world isolated from reality.The ideology of the whole era pervades in his works.Burroughs derogates African from the perspective of heredity,moral and culture.
