PASSIVE DESIGN PRIORITY:STUDY ON GREEN TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION AND POSTOCCUPANCY EVALUATION OF SPORTS AND CULTURAL CENTER IN SHENZHEN OVERSEAS CHINESE TOWN

" Passive design first" strategy means constructing building environment through less energy-consuming passive technologies such as natural ventilation,daylighting.It is achieved by reasonable design of space,plan and construction.The strategy is not only the sole of climate-oriented idea,but also the core for green building to reach the aim of energy saving and environment improvement.This paper introduces Sports and Culture Center in Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town as a case,which is among the first buildings that have been certified as National Three-Star Green Building.The introduction includes the process of integration,optimization and innovation of the technologies applied in the design phase.Technologies applied are as follows:temperature and humidity independent control,disposal of reclaimed water,use of permeable brick and cast finish concrete,solar water heating system etc.Furthermore,field measurement is taken to test actual operation performance of these technologies and systems.The results show that operation energy consumption intensity of the building is 50.35 kWh/(m2.a),including 12.4 kWh/(m2.a) as the energy consumption for air-conditioning system,and 21.2 kWh/(m.2a) for lighting and appliances.Energy consumption of the building is much lower than local buildings of the same type.It is also concluded that the air change rate exceeds 2.4 ACH,while the ratio of areas that reach minimum value of daylight factor is up to 75%.For the solar water heating system integrated with air-source heat-pump,the average solar fraction for the whole year is 88.83%.And utilization ratio of nontraditional water source achieves over 35%.
