COMPARATIVE STUDIES ON THE DROUGHT RESISTANCE OF SPRING WHEAT VARIETIES

For speed up varietal breeding of drought resistance in the springwheat, we comparatively studied the behavior of the drought resistance bet-ween spring wheat varities "Yuchung Hung" and "Kansu No. 96". The resultsobtained in this experiment indicated that bond water content, water-re-taining and water-absorbing capacity of leaves of "Yuchung Hung" plant ishigher than that of "Kansu No. 96". Under the condition of drier soil, pro-tein synthesis of "Yuchung Hung" plant is more stability. These physio-logical response indicate that drought resistance of "Yuchung Hung" isstronger than that of "Kansu No. 96".
