A DISCUSSION OF SYSTIMATIC POSITION OF TETRAENA BY EMBRYOLOGICAL FEATURE

This paper aimS to disscuss the systimatic position of Tetraena by embryblogical featrue. Embryological study shows that Tetraena and Zygophyllaceae are closely ralated, but they are different clearly. It is confirmed by. Tetraena anther wall development conforms to basic type; taptum cells usually uninucleate; syncarpy but deeply split to base; orthotropous ovule with longer funicle; hypostase absent, endothelium absent; only one linear megaspore tetrad forms; mature embryo sac four cells(nucleus); integument degenerates during the development of ovule and only vestige of the inner layer of out integument present in mature seed; a large part of endosperm cells at contre disintegrates but the peripheral one specializes and functions as protection instead of seed coat. Wether Tetraena should be assigned a seperate family is worth to study.
