A STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIPS OF CERCIDIPHYLLACEAE Ⅰ. Leaf Architecture and Vasculature Changes of Petiole

This paper deals with the leaf architecture, especially with the structure of marginal glands and vasculature changes of petiole. The features of leaf form, leaf margin, tooth type,venation, marginal ultimate venation, areole and veinlets are involved. The venation type is brochidodromous vein and the tooth type is Cercidiphylloid. The marginal gland is composed of many gland cells, which have a inflated head at the far end. Large cluster crystals can common been seen. Based on the leaf architecture and other data, we come to the coo nclusion that the Cercidiphyllaceae is more allied to Hamamelidaceae than to Magnoliaceae.
