A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE ESTERASE AND PROXIDASE ISOENZYME OF ROEGNERIA C, KOCH AND ELYMUS L.

The esterase and proxidase isoenzyme of 6 species and 2 varieties, 6 species of Elymus compared with 5 species of Agropyron have been comparatively studied by means of polyarcylamide electrophoresis. The quantative analysis of the species being analysed has been made by means of the polar ordination method which is used to be used in numerical classification according to the similarity of the isoenzyme zymegram. Experimental evidence indicates that, though Roegneria has a closer relationship with Elymus than Agropyron, there still is a di- stinct boundary between the formers.Therefore, Roegneriaand Elymus are two individual genera is supported in the present paper. The isoenzyme zymegram according to the sections of these three genera has been discussed. And so has the taxonomic significance of the isoenzyme zymegram quantative analysis by means of the polar ordination.
