Anther development and microsporogenesis of Paeonia rockii CVS

Anther development and microsporogenesis of Paeonia rockii CVS were originated from the primordium of stamen in the third year cycle of flower bud.Anther wall was formed in a special method due to the homology of tapetum cell and secondary sporogenous cell.Anther was tetrasporangiate with endothecium,3~4 middle layers and glandular tapetum,of which 1~3 middle layers and endothecium developed synchronically characteristic fibrous thickenings to form fibrous layers as the anther matured.Microspore mother cells in an anther started but did not end the meiosis at the same time.Cytokinesis was simultaneous and the arrangement of microspores in the tetrad was tetrahedral.B chromosome and chromosome bridge appeared generally in the prophase 1 of meiosis.Super microspore happened in the 5%~30% or more tetrads and its formation was directly concerned with B chromosome.
