The Historical of Change of the Philippines' Territorial and Maritime Claims

ZHANG Zuxing;School of International Studies,Sun Yat-Sen University;
Based on relevant historical documents,this article describes the historic change of the Philippines'territorial and maritime claims.In territorial question,the Philippines'territorial claim has experienced an obvious process of expansion.The mark of this expansion is its"Presidential Decree No.1596"(1978),which intended to violate China's territorial sovereignty and the Philippines'own constitutional law.In maritime questions,through its"Republic Act No.9522"(2009),the Philippines seemed to intend to reduce the size of its internal waters and territorial sea,which might contradict its own Constitution.The illegality of the Philippines'territorial expansion is quite clear and should be redressed.
