Co-Design and Co-Simulation Technology of Embedded System

As for increasing complexity of software/hardware,designing of embedded system become more and more difficult.The traditional design method of embedded system becomes obsolete.Today's embedded system is often used co-design,which partition the hole system into hardware and software part,and allow hardware and software developing parallel.At end of hardware/software coding,simulation resume to verify hardware/software function and co-simulation to hardware/software interface.If system function and performance goal are meet,development move next phase at which hardware/software synthesis and integrate to test,otherwise,hardware or software need to modify.In this paper,author want to present a co-simulation method,at which hardware is simulated by event-driver VHDL simulator,software by RTOS simulator,and hardware/software interface is verified by using hardware simulating driver.
