Profiling of Simultaneously Vaulted and Twisted Blades----Theory,Experiment,Design and Application

This paper discusses the mechanism of controlling secondary flow by simultaneously vaulted and twisted blades, which can effect a negative pressure gradient at blade root, reduce the boundary layer at blade edge and eliminate its pilling up on the suction side surface, thus improving turbomachinary's efficiency. Experimental tests and 3-D calculation provide validations. Figs 5 and refs 14.
