Adsorption of iodine in soil was studied with batch test while several typical soil enzymes and microbes existed. Microbes can significantly increase the iodine adsorption capacity in soil, but glucose oxidase, urease, cellulose enzyme, glucose, urea and cellulose cannot. At the concentration of less than 100 mg/L,glucose oxidase or glucose has no effect on iodine adsorption, while at 1000 mg/L,both glucose oxidase and glucose significantly inhibit it. The more urease or urea, the more obvious is the inhibition of iodine adsorption. In the range of 1-1000 mg/L,cellulase and cellulose do not affect the iodine adsorption. Iodine adsorption can be enhanced while glucose oxidase and glucose exited at the same time. Dissolved organic carbon contents in the liquid gradually decrease with time, and the decreasing tendency is obvious with increasing concentration of organic matter.
