Study of simulated experiment on quantitatively characterizing crude oil cracking

HAN Jin-ping,HUANG Guang-hui,ZHANG Min,LI Bi and TANG Xiao-qiang(Key Laboratory of Oil &Gas Resources and Exploration Technology,Ministry of Education,Yangtze University;Department of Geochemistry,Yangtze University,Jingzhou 434023,China)
The degree of crude oil cracking reflects the conversion from crude oil to natural gas during high evolution in the geologic body. Therefore, quantitatively characterizing crude oil cracking can provide an important basis for the evaluation of oil-cracked gas resource. Based on the simulated experiment study, the variation characteristics of chemical components, including compound composition and concentration, are comprehensively analyzed and discussed. These characteristics are the base of quantitative description on crude oil cracking. Consequently, quantitative relationships between crude oil cracking and various parameters can be established through the simulated experiment, and are applied into the study of marine oils in the platform region of the Tarim basin, which will provide a reference method and standard for the study of crude oil cracking in this area.
