PRELIMINARY DISCUSSION ON CARBON ISOTOPIC DISTRIBUTION PATTERN OF INDIVIDUAL HYDROCARBONS FROM CRUDE OIL AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO OIL-FORMING ENVIRONMENT

The oil basins are divided into marine and nonmarine facies, and the nonmarine basins may be further subdivided into three depositional environments: freshwater-brackish lake, freshwater lake and salt-semisalt lake. In different terrigenous sedimentary facies, organic types and abundance are different, as reflected by carbon isotopic distribution of individual alkane hydrocarbon from crude oils. This paper discusses the relationship between the sedimentary environments and the carbon isotopic distributions of individual hydrocarbons in crude and condensate oils, as well as the influence of maturity on the carbon isotopic ratio of individual hydrocarbons.
