By using the oil pollution monitoring data of a groundwater drinking source in Zibo City, East China, the hydrogeochemical change and the relation between total oil concentration and the other components in groundwater have been studied for the first time. Some groundwater environmental background values were suggested to be the important reference index of groundwater oil pollution. Changes of groundwater oil pollutants and other components mainly depended on the characteristics of the pollution source, and it can be concluded that the influence of man's activity on hydrogeochemistry is very strong.
