GENERATION OF LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT ORGANIC ACIDS FROM CRUDE OIL BY HYDROUS PYROLYSIS

Crude oil and its group components were heated in the presence of brine of different concentrations and various minerals.Aqueous solutions after experiment were analysed for low molecular weight organic acids.The results show that oil in reservoir under heating can produce organic acids,but the yields are variable under different conditions.The high concentration of brine is favourable for acid production.The addition of sandstone in crude oil has some catalysis effect on hydrous pyrolysis,whereas the addition of oxides can significantly raise the yields of acids.Among group components of crude oil,the asphaltene′s contribution to the production of organic acid is the biggest.
