THE THEORY AND APPLICATION OF LOGGING FOR SOURCE ROCK EVALUATION-FROM THE WORKING RESULTS IN NANYANG AND BIYANG DEPRESSIONS

In this paper, the'mineral composition and the basic compaction characteristics of the source rock and the distribution forms of the organic matter in the source rock have been discussed. The characteristics of wireline log for the source rock have been studied and the source rock in Nanyang depression has been evaluated by using the crossplot analysis, Ix indicator and the multiple regression analysis methods, The paper has also estimated the source rock by using Overlay and Dual-porosity methods With Waxman-Smith equation. Meanwhile, it has forward the equation which can be used to calculate the total organic carbon of the source rock with carbon-oxygen logging. The data computed in shuangjian-2 well are proved to be suitable.
