Discussion of vertical seal research method on multi and small scale developed faults

Based on study of vertical seal mechanism of fault and its influential factors,using the size of angle between orientation of maximum principle stress and strike direction of fault,a method is established to study vertical seal of faults developed in large number and small scale.Taking large number and small scale faults developed in T2 reflector in Binbei area in Songliao Basin as an example,a study is carried out on its vertical seal.The result indicates that the quantity of faults of good and favorable vertical seal degree are obviously larger than that of medium and poor degree.Particularly in areas near Binzhou railway,the hydrocarbon accumulation and preservation conditions are better than other areas.It is one of important reasons why gas show is discovered in Fuyang reservoirs in this area.This proves that the method is feasible to study vertical seal of faults developed in large number and small scale.
