THE APPLICATION OF SOLID BORONIZATION IN THE MECHANICAL SEAL RING

The paper Presents the results on the substitution of solid boronising castiron ring of the hardalloy seal ring in oil-pumps.The continuous operationin production site for one year and three months has proved that the castiron ring fulfils seal requirements completely. But the production cost of thecast iron ring is merely one-sixth of that of hardalloy. The boronizationtechnology is simple and easy to be popularized.The paper also presents parameters of the boronization technology and thedetermination result of hardness and thickness for the boronization layers.
