A STUDY OF REACTION RATE FOR THE CORROSION OF MILD STEEL IN SULPHUIC ACID

In the paper, the initial velocity of corrosion of mild steel insulphuric acid is studied by colorimetric analysis. The kinetic expression,r.= K.e~(BC), is derived from the relationship between initial velocity andconcentration. Replacing the rate constant K by Arrhenius equation,K= A·e~(-E/R),we get r_0=A·e~(BC)·e~(-E/(RT)).All parameters in this kinetic expression is obtained by experimentalmethods.
