OIL AND GAS RESERVOIR TYPES WITHIN THE EED RCCKS AND THEIR FORMATIONAL CONDITIONS IN LIAO RIVER DEPRESSION

Jin Shangzhu Research Institute of Liao River Oilfield
In recert years, many oil and gas reservoirs within bed rocks have been discovered while we searched for oil and gas reservoirs in Tertiary within Liao River depression and this richens the petroleum geology theory on small depressions and widens the region for prospecting oil and gas. As the other types of oil and gas reservoirs, the reservoirs within bed rocks accumulate oil and gas only when the conditions of oil-producing, covering, sealing and trapping are sufficient. But because of its special stratigrad- phic positions, the trapping conditions have their own characteristics. An according to their trapping conditions, the oil and gas reservoirs in the bed rocks of Liao River depression may be classified into three types, the oil and gas reservoirs may be classified into types, in order to meet the need of prospecting. Rift is the main factor for the formation of the bed rocks in Liao River depression. At the different positions of the winnow- ing sedimental depressions different traps of bed rocks formed. The pros- peting work for oil and gas reservoirs is guided by thistheory effectively.
