Separation characteristics experimental study of gas-injected hydrocyclone

Gas injected experiments of the hydrocyclone were carried out by using air compressor and Nikuni gas-liquid mixing pump.During the separation process,the injected micro air bubble will capture fine oil droplet to form oil-gas compound body,which will move toward the center of the hydrocyclone under the function of centrifugal force,so as to fulfill the cooperating effect of floatation and hydrocyclonic separation,and to ensure the high efficient separation of oil from water.Experiments indicate that it is feasible to enhance hydrocyclone's separation efficiency by injecting air.Several tested air-injecting means improved the separation effect,although the flow field stability could be destroyed by means of air compressor single point injection,which resulted in less increasing of the efficiency;while other air-injecting means,such as air compressor inlet injection,micro-pore vortex cavity injection,and the injection by using Nikuni gas-liquid mixing pump,are satisfied air-injection means,the efficiency of hydrocyclones can reach as high as 95%.
