Transient pressure analysis of partially penetrated vertical wells in anisotropic reservoirs

To study features of the production performance of partially penetrated vertical wells,a mathematical model of a partially penetrated vertical well in an anisotropic boxed reservoir is established. Using methods of dimensionless,Laplace transform,Fourier transform and their inverse transform,the analytical solution is obtained. Then the analytical solution is validated with numerical simulation solution. Besides,charts of dynamic pressure and pressure derivative under different influencing factors are also given. Analysis shows that penetration ratio of the well mainly affects the degree of the middle spherical flow. The smaller the penetration ratio,the greater the middle spherical flow happens. Permeability anisotropy factor mainly affects the occurring and duration time of middle radial flow,and the larger the anisotropy factor,the later the middle radial flow occurs and the shorter the duration time is. In practical production process,it is necessary to increase the penetration ratio of the well and decrease the difference between horizontal permeability and vertical permeability as far as possible,which can enlarge productivity.
