Analysis of research present situation of mud invasion

he invasion of mud and filtrate is a complicate physical process in the well drilling process.The affecting factors of mud invasion is uncertain when the exploration area and the engineering conditions of well sites are changed.Therefore,it is very diffcult to obtain true formation resistivity and to evaluate accurately the reservoir.This article reviews the research present situation of mud invasion at home and aboard on the affecting factors,the log responses,the calculation of invasion radius and the correction methods of mud invasion.Based on the analysis of mud invasion mechanism,we expect to find some hints for bettter understanding the laws of invasion and morr suitable correction methods,and to guide more accurate reservoir evaluattion.The future study should combine rock physical experiments to further investigate the dynamic mud invasion mechanism and come out more precise and more universal applicable numerical method that can conduct forward and inversion study.Then,the logging resistivity could be effectively and in real-time manner corrected.In addition,the research and development of high performance low invasion mud system,advanced logging with drilling method and emphasizing the influence of rigsite engineering factors are very important to both the study focusing on reduction of mud invasion and the study of low resistivity oil gas formations under the complex well structure condition.
