Study on porosity exponent,saturation and fracture porosity for fractured reservoirs

he calculation of fracture porosity,saturation and porosity exponent for the fractured reservoirs are worldwide difficult problems.They are directly related to the evaluation of reservoir development degree,oil-bearing properties,reserves scale and other aspects.Predecessors have done a lot of research in these areas,but still need to further enhance and deepen the understanding for reservoir parameters calculation of fractured reservoirs.The variation rules of porosity exponent of the fractured reservoirs based on the porosity exponent calculation model proposed by Aguilera was studied.Fracture dip and fracture tortuosity were considered in this model.The variation rules show that Porosity exponent of the fractured reservoirs connects tightly with fractures dip,total porosity,fracture porosity and fracture tortuosity.It can be affected strongly by them.The composite system porosity exponent was inserted into Archie formula to calculate saturation for fractured reservoirs with single dip angle.Its saturation value is different from the saturation value calculated by the dual porosity saturation model.The dual porosity saturation model is still widely used in china was established based on the theory about current series-parallel relationship.Fracture porosity can be calculated by using of imaging logging data and dual lateral log data.There are three types of models to calculate fracture porosity using dual lateral log data.Comparative analysis of fracture porosity calculated by using of imaging logging data and dual lateral log data was done in this paper.The results show that there are great differences about fracture porosity calculated by different fracture porosity model.The fracture porosity model based on dual lateral log data is only applicable to ultra-low-porosity reservoirs and tight reservoirs.These models will lead to errors in the reservoirs whose resistivity was decreased by the porosity increases,shale content increases,rock texture changes and other aspects.A correction factor can be introduced to fracture porosity models using of dual lateral log data to broaden the sphere of application.
