Crustal horizontal strain of Weihe basin with least squares estimate method

The erustal horizontal strain of Weihe basin was discussed with the least squares estimate method in this paper.The variance and the covariance matrix are constructed with the distance of calculation point and observation point when the GPS data of displacement is regarded as random signal.Then,the distribution of regional strain field was obtained by derivation.The strain field of Weihe basin were analyzed with the GPS data from 2004 to 2007.The results show that Weihe basin principal strain present spatial distribution is inhomogeneity.and the strain properties of mountainous area is in extrusion state.On the contrary,the strain properties of basin is in a state of tension.The west of Baoji is located in maximum shear strain of high gradient area,by the reason for the extrusion strain playing a important role.
