Developments of meshless method and applications in geophysics

LI Jun-jie;YAN Jia-bin;School of Geosciences and Info-Physics,Central South University;  
Meshless method is a new numerical method as an important complement and development of the grid method.This paper focuses on meshless approximation methods and the weighted residual methods to elaborate the principle of meshless method.This paper also review the advantages and disadvantages of meshless method and summarize its research progress and detailedly introduced the solving process of Galerkin weak form meshless method according to magnetotelluric two-dimensional problem.Finally,Application of element-free Galerkin method in geophysics is discussed.
