TEST OF AN AIRBORNE GRAVITY METER

ZHANG SHAN-YAN ZHOU DONG-MING ZONG JIF FANG MING WANG JIAN-DI SHAN JIAN-HUA ZHOU BAI-LI MIAO HOMG(Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics, Academia Sinica, Wuhan)  
Using a Z-8 helicopter, test of the CHZ seagravimeter in the hover mode shows that 6 different hover heights from the ground can be measured in half an hour. If the first measured point at which the helicopter was hovered just one minute is not considered, then 5 hovers were made with accuracies of ±2.3mGal, when compared with that made on the ground. The accuracy of the average of 5 hover values is ±1.1mGal. The deviation of the mean of the hover mode from the ground value is-0.4 mGal.
