INVESTIGATION OF THE TURBULENCE IRREGULARITIES IN THE LOWER IONOSPHERE BY PARTIAL REFLECTION RADAR

Originally Partial Reflection Radar was used to measure the electron density in the region of 66-120km. It suggests in this paper that using partial Reflection Radar with the voltage interferometer technique we can measure the turbulence irregularities of electron density in this region. The position, velocity and the properties of structure of the irregularity can be determined by this technique. The Partial Reflection Radar in Aeronomy Laboratory, University of Illinois was used to experiment on this technique and the results that have been given in the paper show that this is a simple and effective technique for studying the turbulence irregularity in this region.
