A TWO-FLUID MODEL OF SOLAR WIND FOR ACCELERATING AND HEATING

A two-fluid model has been developed by including in the model the Alfvenic fluctuation power spectrum equation proposed by Professor Tu. In this model, theheating and accelerating of the solar wind can be described by a single process forwhole space range from 1Rs to 1AU. Especially for heliocentric distance r 10Rs, themodel can characterize heating of proton and changing of proton temperature withradial distance r, and it can depict the major properities of Alfvenic fluctuation andthe high-speed flow observed by Helios in the space range between 0.29-1AU. Thesolutions are consistent with the observational constraints, and we can obtain the following conditions.(1) The spectrum index of the fluctuation is near to-1 for a large of frequencyat r=2R(2) The frequency range with -1 index becomes narrower with increasing r anddisappears near 1AU.(3) The temperature of proton is higher than of electron for whole space rangefrom 1Rs to 1AU, and the temperature of proton is less 3.0×105K at 1AU, thetemperature of electron is higher than 1.0×105K at 1AU.(4) The particle flux density at 1AU is not greater than 3.0×108cm-2.
